Past

Dimitri started his existence in heaven as an angel named Gabriel. He grew up never knowing his parents, or if he even had any. In spite many angels being born in the same manner that other species were born, some angels were simply brought into existence by the will of God. Gabriel was rumored to be one of these angels. Whether this was true or just things people said in order to explain away his absent parent remained a mystery. He wasn't the only angel whom is said to be brought into existence by the will of God. The angels by the name of Michael and Lucifel were, also, said to have come into being this way. These two angels became Gabriel's two closest friends. They were inseparable. They did everything together. However, their happiness was not to last.

God created the race of man. This alone wasn't terrible. God was constantly bringing new species into existence. No, what made this creation different was angels were told to worship and love them just as they did God. This order left the angels flabbergasted. The idea that any living being should be worthy of the same praise and devotion as the creator was a hard one to grasp, but eventually they came to terms with the order and left with every intention of following it. Though, doubt could be seen within several angels' eyes as they departed that day.

A couple weeks later, Lucifel approached Gabriel and Michael to ask them to join a rebellion he was starting. He claimed that God was no longer worthy of ruling heaven, and that they should overthrow him. Michael became outraged over what he said, and vowed to be the one to kill Lucifel if he proceeded with this plan. Gabriel refused the offer, as well. Lucifel was walking down a path he could not follow. Lucifel tried to change their mind, but the attempt only proved futile. It was clear that this fact sadden Lucifel, and the three departed.

The next time the three friends would see each other was during the Great War of Heaven. Lucifel had changed his name to Lucifer, and brought many angels underneath his banner. It appeared that his side had a good chance of winning a war. This meeting among friends came during one of the battles. Lucifer's army had decimated those who fought for God. Gabriel had managed to survive, and was walking through the dead that littered the battlefield trying to find any survivors when he noticed Michael and Lucifer standing in the middle of the carnage.

Lucifer had Michael by the throat with one hand, and a sword ready to thrust inside his chest with the other. Gabriel knew that he had to stop it. He had to prevent one of his friend from killing the other, but by the time he rushed over to his friends screaming no it was too late. Lucifer had stabbed Michael. He turned towards Gabriel as he pulled his sword from Michael's chest. Gabriel thought he was going to share Michael's fate. He swore he was going to taste Lucifer's blade that day, but he found a different fate once Lucifer closed the distance between them.

Lucifer embraced Gabriel, pulling him into a hug with one hand while the other kept a hold of his sword. The entire time Gabriel kept waiting for that sword to stab him. He thought that maybe he didn't stab him right away because he was giving Gabriel one more chance to join him. It was possible he had extended the offer once again to Michael, and only stabbed him after he refused. However, the offer never came. Instead, Lucifer simply said "I love you, brother" before tossing Gabriel from heaven. As Gabriel plummet to the ground, he could hear Lucifer telling him that he would thank him once this was said and done. Gabriel didn't become a fallen when he descended to Earth. He was still an angel, and could return to heaven whenever he wished.

He, however, decided to remain on earth for awhile. He was curious about the human race. He had not stopped foot on earth since their creation, and if he had witness them it had been high up inside heaven. He quickly feel in love with them, and decided to take a more active role in protecting them. He became one of the few angels to have an active presence among mankind, and it was for this reason that God entrusted the role of messenger to him.

Michael had survived the war, but any attempt that Gabriel made to figure out what had transpired between Lucifer and him was quickly dismissed. He did not wish to talk about. Gabriel saw Lucifer once more after he was tossed from heaven. It was during the middle ages, and they happened upon each other in the middle of the street. Lucifer started towards Gabriel with a smile upon his face, but that smile quickly turned to a frown when he noticed that Gabriel was still an angel. He turned angrily away from Gabriel and vanished into the crowd.

The years drifted by until Gabriel met her. She was a human girl by the name of Elisabeth Rosewell, and the two fell in love. However, there was something wrong with Elisabeth. She was suffering from a genetic illness that was killing her. Gabriel attempted to heal her, but his healing abilities were limited compared to others. There were times he couldn't even heal the simplest cut. This was one of those times his abilities seemed to have no affect. He didn't stop trying though. He even went to others for help even Michael, who was considered one of the greatest--if not the greatest--healers within heaven. Michael refused to help. He claimed that it wasn't his place to interfere with the will of God. If God wished for the mortal to be save he would save her.

These words didn't stop Gabriel from trying to save Elisabeth's life. He didn't want her to die. He couldn't imagine existence without her, and after exhausting every other options he did the only other thing he could think of and fed her his blood. There was power within blood. More power than anyone can imagine, and he knew that if anything could save her it would be that. He was right, but saving her life with his blood came with a price for both of them. They were both cursed.

Gabriel was tossed from grace. He was made into a fallen angel, and Elisabeth was turned into a vampire. The force of heaven's wraith, also, ripped them apart and when Gabriel eventually awoken alone and naked in a snow covered field he no longer remembered who he was. It was within this field that the witch by the name of Katia Devry found him. She knew right away what he was, and offered to help him find his missing identity and the reason behind his fall. She took him into his home, and was the one that gave him the name Dimitri Vesela. They became extremely close.

 Present

Dimitri had been  reacquainted with Elisabeth, who helped him rediscover his past. There are still many things before his fall that he doesn't remember. Those around him still refers to him as Dimitri even though they knew his real identity, expect for Elisabeth, who has a habit of calling him Gabriel. It might be because, unlike the others, she knew him before he fell. Dimitri still lives with Katia, but their small family has grown since she had found him. Now living with them is Elisabeth, their two pets: A cat named Nala, whom Dimitri affectionately calls Medusa, and a wolf-dog named Grasshopper, and a hosts of Mini Dimis.

Strange as some might find this, Dimitri is content with his life and he doesn't regret the fact he had became a fallen--even though he knows Elisabeth feels guilty for the role she played in his fall. He wishes he could make her see that the price he paid in order to save her was nothing compared to her life, and that he would pay it a thousand times over if that what it meant to keep her safe.  He believes that with time the guilt will fade away, and he knows she isn't the only one that bares any. He holds some guilt over what he had made her. Though, she is different than other vampires he had seen, but how many vampires can honestly say their sire was an angel? Other than those that live with him, Dimitri has made a number of friends since Katia found him including a young witch by the name of Aiyana Lavoie, whom created the mini dimis.
